The Bible is the word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God gave the words He wanted revealed. “…for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21) What does scripture say about itself? What does the Bible say?

It is a Sword. “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” (Ephesians 6:17)

It is a Mirror. “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” (James 1:23-25)

It is Seed. “… having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,” (1 Peter 1:23)

It is a Lamp. “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

It is a Cleanser. “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.” Psalm 119:9

The word of God is to be working in our lives. Come study so that we can all hear, learn, believe and obey what God has to say to us.
